Many types of motors have different requirements for magnets due to different usage requirements and environments. Today, we will discuss the requirements for the use of magnets in DC motors and brushless motors

Both DC and brushless motors use magnetic tiles or rings; the main difference between the two is the different levels of magnetization required. A number of waveform metrics, including average pole, pole difference, and area, can be used to determine magnetization (or duty cycle).
The area (or duty cycle) indicates the magnitude of the magnetization waveform, and its size determines the power output of the motor at the same pole value; however, the larger the area, the greater the positioning torque of the motor and the poor feel of the rotation. The average pole value indicates whether the magnetization or magnet performance meets the requirements of the product; the pole difference indicates the uniformity of the magnetization; and the pole difference indicates the size of the magnetization.
Normally, brushless motors need to rotate smoothly, which has an indicator of torque fluctuation, especially at low speeds; the smaller the torque fluctuation, the closer the magnetization waveform is to a sine wave. DC motors usually need to generate large forces and therefore larger duty cycles.
